It's confusing that the minimum charge doesn't upcharge for fees like it does if you're above the minimum. This came up in private email with @hglattergotz. The minimum should be $10.60 ($10.61?) instead of $10.00 flat. That way users will end up with an even $10 in their account, which will be good because often people tip in even increments ($0.25, $1.00, $2.00, $5.00) so the numbers will line up better, and also the fee algorithm in the minimum case will then be the same as for the non-minimum case.

@whit537 shouldn't it be $10.59? Looking at my history, I've been charged $0.59 for the fee.

Solved this with the help of @whit537 by funding the account with a larger amount. Thanks for excellent response time and sorry about the negative comment on twitter about gittip. :)
Maybe having the option to fund one's account with a larger sum would help. I think the goal has to be to reduce the number of cc transactions. That helps out everyone I would think.

Thanks!

Being able to have larger CC transactions would tie in nicely with the suggestion for funders to be able to set a budget for maximum weekly funding over at #1203 (comment)

@daxter $0.59 is the fee on $9.41 to make it an even $10.00. With $10.00 as the base the fee is a penny or two higher.

@hglattergotz Over on #859 we have a proposal to make the minimum charge explicit, which should address your use case as well as making it clearer to people why we charge them more than they set up to tip.

I could have addressed this in the payday rewrite if I'd known about it. Closing in favor of #1063.
