Connection Failed: Connect error: Connection timed out (os error 110)

I tried to run google-fonts-sources locally to clone all the source repositories and I am getting a lot of these connection timed out errors.
Is it just me?

i also get stuff like:

fatal: unable to access 'https://github.com/cyrealtype/Jacques-Francois-Shadow/': Failed to connect to github.com port 443 after 19587 ms: Couldn't connect to server

but if I try to load those URLs in the browser it works.
Maybe there's some local git or github setup that I am missing (this is on my glinux cloudtop machine)

I'm really not sure what's going on here, but maybe a firewall issue?

I tried again this time from my local macbook pro and it worked without issues (except for a few 'repository not found' here and there). Maybe it's an issue with the cloudtop machine.
