Adding menu link in shopify store, using app (public)

Greetings, i am trying to add a button using my app to the store menu navbar, basically what i am trying is to add a menu link which the users can click and visit some page of app using proxy url, but i am not sure how the button will be added, as this is a public app and the button should be added automatically when the app is installed
