Gibber chat/collaborate: Unable to make a new room

Using https://gibber.cc/#, I made sure I logged in, but I am not able to create a new room. The create new room just closes down.

Clicking chat/collaborate brings up this error in the console:
WebSocket connection to 'wss://gibber.cc/' failed: Connection closed before receiving a handshake response

However, running gibber-server locally, create the new chatroom and chat goes through well, but there's no way of sharing the script. (No popup for Collaborate on Column ID#)
