I do:

$ python3 ./setup.py install -e . 
usage: setup.py [global_opts] cmd1 [cmd1_opts] [cmd2 [cmd2_opts] ...]
   or: setup.py --help [cmd1 cmd2 ...]
   or: setup.py --help-commands
   or: setup.py cmd --help

error: option -e not recognized

yes it seems, that this is nearly impossible on MacOs -- due to the nature of gstreamers unfriendly forward compatibility etc. Would love to converge on this issue.

There are simply a few imports that are missing or non defined objects etc.

I think the documentation could simply be improved vis a vis a simple llm ; & it would be more user friendly to get this in distribution.
