Trying to share a video from YouTube to XBMC remote results in just a blank screen, back is possible to return to YouTube. No confirmation to open link.

Possibly due to YouTube's share content change in one of the updates as sharing from a YouTube page on browser still works.

If one does 'share a link' from Firefox while on YouTube, it does work(but not for the mobile version of the website)!

Since this was bothering me too, I tracked down the problem. I wrote a small fix and will post a pull-request. Main problem was that the youtube app changed the format of the intent's extra that contains the url.

Can anyone confirm the fix #104 is working? The relevant commits from my pull request have been merged into master. For me it is working, but it would be nice to get some feedback on it, at least from the people who reported this issue, so that the issue can be closed.

No it doesn't seem to work for me, I can't submit magnet links either. Just hangs on a black screen.

Neither Chrome nor YouTube work, but in default browser on slimkat ROM I can share YouTube.

Also here. When "Share" -> "Play on XBMC" is chosen inside Youtube app, mobile device displays completely black screen and XBMC host does not change at all.

Are you sure you are using the latest build from the repository? No one seems to update to official version on Google Play so I did build it from source, packaged and signed it myself.

Well there's your problem.

Also I cloned current git, build apk and installed it on two of my devices. Crashes on start on both devices (Android 2.3. and 4.1)

Checked the forum and there are no official versions there from what I see.

Hmmm, maybe newer commits broke my fix?

I'm still using the version I build and it's working fine.

Have a try with this version (though I'm not 100% sure it is the build I'm currently using):

Yep, that makes Youtube to XBMC work.

I'm glad this helped, but it does not explain why your own build wasn't working.

As far as I can tell from the commit history the build I uploaded would be identical from what you would get when cloning latest master and build. Are you sure you did sign the APK you did build? You can't run unsigned APKs on Android. Other that that I can't imagine why your own build based on the latest master should not work.
