If you can bind an air unit to an air unit, might it be possible to use one air unit as a repeater/relay for the other?

I don't know much about RF repeaters etc, but I'd say it's unlikely. You'd need a MIMO capable device or something along those lines to be able to both receive and broadcast as the relay.

I think the best we can hope for is some day being able to use an air unit as a receiver or tx module. Not much research has gone into that either.
