Many, if not most, useful timescaledb hyperfunctions require timescaledb-toolkit which is included in their managed offering.
It would be great for the timescaledb image to include it. Currently this requires building a custom image which is not ideal.

Fortunately it is quite easy to add via a Debian package and available on the packagecloud timescale repository

The Enabling TimescaleDB docs should also note enabling/updating the extension

Apparently the timescaledb-docker-ha includes the toolkit, but the non-HA image does not.

I haven't looked at too much Fly's custom image but maybe it could be rebased on top of the HA variant?

Am interested in this as well since Timescale doesn't seem very useful without it.

I was looking into Supabase and found this comment, sounds like there could be licensing issues if Fly were to provide this?
