Hi!

I was wondering if the edm.owl found here: https://github.com/europeana/metis-schema/blob/develop/src/main/resources/rdf_examples/edm.owl is consistent with the latest EDM version?

Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Ruben

Hi Ruben, thanks for reaching out.
These OWL files are very old and not in line with recent updates, sorry. We're not using these OWL files in our systems, so motivation has lacked to update them. But we've been talking about it once in a while. If there would be a strong motivation we might invest in it.
Kind regards,
Antoine

Hello Ruben,

We have an newer version of the EDM OWL file than the one you found. It is here https://github.com/europeana/edm-resources/tree/main/rdf ; It is aligned with version 5.2.7 of EDM.
The latest version of EDM is 5.2.8 but a version of the OWL file for this version was never prepared.

We are working on a version for the upcoming version of EDM (v5.2.9), but it is a work in progress. If you'd like to have a look, you'll find it here:
https://github.com/nfreire/edm-resources/tree/main/rdf

Hope this helps.
I am curious about how you'll apply the EDM OWL file. Knowing that the OWL file id being used (and how) is good to motivate us to invest more on it.

Kind regards,
Nuno

Hello both,

Thank you for this information. This is quite helpful. In the context of REEVALUATE, a European research project with a focus on digital cultural heritage, my colleagues and I are formulating an ontology for context surrounding digital CH artefacts. We want to map this ontology as much as possible to other available data models in the space, and wanted to make sure EDM was not overlooked. Hopefully this makes that mapping possible!

If you are interested in the project or have questions, I am glad to provide further explanation. Feel free to contact me at [email protected], so we can set up a quick call or exchange some emails :)
