It may help for people who've already added openpilot's master branch and doesn't hurt.

Anyone want to open a PR for this? Would be a nice speedup for initially installing

It's a maybe for initially installing. A lot of references and commits and objects and whatnot aren't really shared for most initial installees I assume.

I think at least a few hundred megabytes are shared between most forks, when you install a second fork it sometimes is only 100MB
