Failed to get primary monitor from GTK.

There was this issue #799 , but it was closed with an explanation that I think doesn't address the core concerns of the original poster.

Basically, it appears that there's automatic monitor selection behavior here - the question is why is eww failing to apply it in this situation? I've hit the same thing - I have exactly 1 monitor and other wayland apps work fine without explicitly specifying the monitor.

I think this can be broken down into a few subquestions:

1. Why does eww need to know the primary monitor?
2. Why isn't GTK setting it? This clearly isn't eww's problem, but users are unlikely to know details of GTK's operation and it was eww that chose to use GTK as the toolkit.
3. If specifying :monitor 0 works, why doesn't eww try that by default?
