Favourite rooms are not synced / cannot mark room as favourite

Steps to reproduce

1. Open the app and login
2. Enable Developer options
3. Enable "Simplified Sliding Sync"
4. Login again
5. I see my contacts
6. Filter for favourites. - None are displayed (in other clients there are favourites)
7. Long press a room
8. Toggle the favourite switch

Outcome

What did you expect?

Switch gets enabled, after that filtering for favourites shows this room.
Favourites are synced from other clients.

What happened instead?

Switch does not toggle. Filtering for favourites still doesn't show any results.
