Discord theme is extremely heavy

The animation applies to too many elements and should be optimized to reduce the absurd CPU usage.

possible idea:

apply the background gradient to the message area & do some fancy magkic so the text goes through the visible white bg, instead of to every message.

Doesn't work -- in fact, the quick test I did actually triples GPU usage. Yes - I applied it to the visible chat element (dimensions are that of what's visible), and not the whole page (width is what's visible, height is bloody absurd)
