Add a customisable buffer before scroll-up is triggered #10

This would be super helpful. There's often a noted difference when users are scrolling up a tad to see something they just missed versus actually seeking to get to the top of the page. |
That's an important feature. Completely agree. I don't have time to implement it right now, though. It's a simple implementation, I'll be happy to merge a pull request if any of you are willing to do it. |
Hi, i just found an rather unforeseen aesthetical reason to add this feature. I am using the new OSX Yosemite with Safari 8, and with the new semi transparent top bar/menu, Scroll up bar now pops up just above the viewport (under the menu bar) before scrolling in place. It's hard to explain without showing it really. I am attaching a gif to explain(low frame rate). The gif shows a minimal use of the menu bar, and the flick is even more visible when i use favourites bar or other things that makes the menu bar taller. It's not really a function-issue, but a visual one ;) |
It would be great if it was possible to specify a "buffer height" where a certain amount of scroll-up is allowed before the sticky menu is triggered.
I'm seeing numerous cases where a user scrolls down but due to mouse/trackpad quirks a small amount (typically < 10px) of upwards scroll is accidentally added at the end causing the menu to suddenly pop up out of nowhere.
Being able to specify that at least 20px of upwards scroll is required before the menu functionality is triggered would alleviate that issue.
