Summary

Currently, the following documents provide information about how the projects are usable via the Eclipse installer:

There should be some information about how many (if not all?) committers use a fork of the Eclipse repositories to contribute and how to configure them for the local installation with Oomph.

CONTRIBUTING.md

In the screenshot about the installer variables, the part for the GitHub repository should be highlighted and should draw the user's attention to the last paragraph above with Tip 2.

InstallerAdvancedOptions.md

In the screenshot about the installer variables, the part for the GitHub repository should be somehow highlighted and underneath it explained that this can be replaced with a fork if someone wants to submit some form of contribution and that this can be done via forks on GitHub.

I can propose something in a PR so others will have a look, does this sound good?

Sorry for my late answer.
Sure, you can. May be before you can also review this new PR which explains how to fork and add the remote in Eclipse.

I will merge it when @HannesWell will have reviewed it :)

Will have a look at it within the next one or two days!

Somehow I don't get any notification about activity in this repository although I watch all activity in it...

FYI I merged the PR about the fork explanation.

This is in the Part2 of https://github.com/eclipse-ide/.github/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md
