Pressing enter while verifying / wrong is shown

For some reason i3lock no longer accepts enter input while verifying or displaying "wrong".
Before, I could enter a wrong password, then immediately start typing again for the right password and press enter right after. It would then complete the 'verifying' step and unlock right away.
Now I have to wait with pressing enter until after the 'wrong' notification has expired, because pressing enter before that has no effect whatsoever.
I looked into PAM nodelay, this does not fix the issue.

+1 for this. I used to log in quite fast, even after entering a wrong password once or twice, but now it takes a lot more time.

I think this (also) applies to the newly maintained Arcaena/i3lock-color, as I'm using that one.
