The current magic keyboard and trackpad doesn't appear to pair the same way the old ones do.

Adding some details to this problem, I noticed that the rechargeable mouse doesn't pair when toggled from iMac. The old keyboard (battery powered) seems to be toggling fine though.

I am able to use the rechargeable mouse on the MacBook if I keep both open (while connected via thunderbolt) and make a manual connection to the rechargeable mouse.

@maricris-sn Do you mean you have to click on the "Connect" button (in Bluetooth prefpane on the MBP, using the trackpad) to get the Magic Mouse 2 to connect?
I have the exact same problem. And also with the latest Magic Keyboard. You have to interact with the MBP's trackpad to get both of them connected.

It's also true when I'm back on my iMac, disconnecting the Thunderbird cable from my MBP. I cannot connect the Magic mouse & keyboard to the iMac without clicking on the nasty "Connect" buttons, which supposes… well… another mouse already connected to the iMac.
