@alisonjo2786 So we do a “first-time contributor” sprint every DrupalCon, which is some of that. It doesn’t specifically say “please come here if you’re a woman, queer, or a PoC” because that seems like. Implying that those factors would somehow mean you need extra help, which seems messed up.

It could say “please come if you are woman, queer, POC, because we value your contributions.”

Oh that's really good...

Yes or “because we need the contributors to be more diverse to make Drupal more awesome.”

It could say “we recongize that there are often additional barriers to participating if you are queer, trans, POC, and we want to offset that if we can.”

This makes a lot of sense to me, though I don't have any access to enact these changes myself.

Posting this here in the hopes that either the DA or the Drupal Mentoring Team puts them into action. :) We could also do a bit more bikeshedding on the actual text we want to add to pages like e.g. https://events.drupal.org/vienna2017/sprints and https://events.drupal.org/vienna2017/first-time-sprinter-workshop and https://events.drupal.org/vienna2017/mentored-core-sprint and https://events.drupal.org/vienna2017/general-sprints.
