Some cloud storage providers will not handle UNIX style logical links (and none will handle hard links 8-) ). Some cloud storage sync tools can't even deal with the existence of logical links.

And no, do not try syncing the same directory to Nextcloud, Owncloud, GDrive and Microsoft for testing. You will have lots of fun aborting that circle.
