running version 1.0.0 of the mod on minecraft 1.20.1 it works fine in single player, however after setting up a server with it, it stopped working

Can you post the latest.log and the Vwoops config file? I'd also suggest deleting the config file and regenerating it.

i will try regenerating later, i havent thought of that yet, i will try to give you the log later on too if it wont do anything still. sadly im not running the server but a friend of mine instead so i dont have immedeate access

so after a bit of fiddling around, the server does not generate the config file on its own even after restarting multiple times!
heres the log file

I see the issue. I added server compatibility after 1.20.1. So the 1.0.0 version won't work on servers at all. 
 
Unfortunately, I don't have the time to port to 1.20.1 at the moment. I'm not aware of any alternatives that would allow you to control specific blocks, but you can always use a mod/datapack that prevents Endermen from picking up all blocks.
 
I don't think it's possible to mark a single version as "client only" only on Modrinth/Curseforge. So, apologies for the confusion.

Ahh i see, no worries and thanks for the clarification! That also explains why it worked in conjunction with essensial mod.
In case it does get updated, please let me know! Have a good one and thanks again for the quick reply
