Request to check if stuck, then restart stream

Quite often i have the card becoming stuck, no longer receiving updates. almost a full day difference on the following screenshot:

Fix the "stuckness"? :-) I'm not a fan of "just automatically restart it", it shouldn't be hanging in the first place. If every website automatically restarted when it had an issue, our browsers would be continually restarting ...

In this case, is the card itself still responsive, but the video stream has stopped? What live provider are you using?

the live provider is JSMpeg, to make the work load light for these devices that do not have much horsepower.
I understand your reason. It's sad these devices have quite some plagues to them when using home assistant it seems.

Did you try using the image provider instead? Wonder if that's any more stable.

i have tried it but unfortunately no.
although i do have a update to share: i have a automation that checks if entity's created by frigate are online. if they go offline for over 15 seconds, frigate add-on is restarted. i have seen that at this time, a frigate card also got stuck on the same image without loading more.
