Cannot find SECRETS.json. Anyone else?

Running app.py is giving me an issue. I made a file named SECRETS.json via text editor in the same folder as the app.py, and input a token/id. But the code returns "Couldn't find SECRETS.json. Did you create it and put your Facebook user id and auth token in it?" What am I doing wrong?

Did you look at the EXAMPLE.json file? This gives an example of exactly how your SECRETS.json file should look. Might be your issue.

Thanks Killian. That worked for me. But I ran into another problem:
When I go into localhost:5000, I encounter this error:
UnicodeEncodeError: codec can't encode character '\U0001f512' in position 91: illegal multibyte sequence

How could I go about fixing this issue?

Unsure why you have that issue.

Have you edited the api.py file?

I'm also having this issue. I did exactly like you and created a SECRETS.json file in the same directory with the token & id. still the app couldn't find it.

Fixed the issue by getting rid of the \U0001f512, which was an unnecessary emoji in api.py.

I fixed my SECRET.json issue by dragging the folder out to my Desktop. Who knows why or how, but it worked for me when I did that.

Nevermind--the encoding problem seems to persist. It appears that I can't just get rid of some emojis in api.py and call it a day. Anyone run into a similar encoding issue?

edit SECRET.json and remove the comment deleting the first line

So I fixed the secrets issue and I'm running into the \U0001f512 problem now too! Sigh.

On Windows you gotta type: chcp 65001 to enable utf-8. Worked for me.
