code works under Spark 2.0 version

Hi,
I found in the book "Spark: The Definitive Guide" a statement that the following code:

df.select(col("DEST_COUNTRY_NAME"), "DEST_COUNTRY_NAME")

would not work and would throw a compiler error. However, I have doubt this code will works I ask ChatGpt and it's says that it will works in Spark version 2.0, Could you help me understand this discrepancy?
