Sometimes the 'Loading Python initially' stage goes on indefinitely.
Looking at the JS console, it looks like this is due to running out of memory. This was in Firefox, I couldn't replicate using Chrome.
Once it happened it continued happening even after hard refreshing the page and freeing up several GB of RAM.
It would be good to be able to tell the user if this happens, and not keep spinning the loading wheel forever.
Two examples of it happening in Firefox:
