Hello,

i have a keyboard similiar to the corne. I would like to compare different layouts and see if there is any adavantages when using a non standard keyboard.

As you can see with the preconfigured corne config the layout of the keys are not working as intended. I at least would like to have correct key positions from where the split is. That does not woek int the first row..

I tried to edit the config file but after changing true and false key settings in fixed keys I get these errors. I habe tried a few things but couldn't make it work. Any suggestions what else i have to modify?

Hi,

The issue with the "correct key positions" appears due to the corne keyboard (as configured in here) has one extra key on the top row to the left and one less on the right. When specifying the "layout string" (zyuaqpbmlf...) you just need to move a key from the top right to the first position, e.g. the ß or the j. The layout string then reads jzyuaqpbmlf... for the corne layout.

Keep in mind, however, that these keyboard configurations are not meant to support comparison between each others; only comparison of various layouts for the same keyboard. In order to get somewhat comparable results across keyboards, you would need to at least make sure that the key-costs of the different keyboard configs are comparable.

Hello,
thanks for the input I will do it like that to compare different layouts for the same keyboard ;).
