A 2D parameter space should be added to extract conditional information about approaching of object. The first test show that the square space is also defining the distribution of angles since the animals has to walk close to a wall and not infinite space...
I might have to think about a Null-Distribution for that issue . Hence what are the possible random outcomes.

I remember reading a paper that deals with this problem of 'heterogeneous
sampling' when I was working on head direction cells, particularly the
biases that need to be taken into account when looking for place x
direction modalated firing; maybe it will be of some use:
