Google Nest multiple Thermostats on one account #2045
Comments
We have contacted Google, since in example cases seen the API call is being made and not all thermostats are being returned. This is awaiting a response from Google for next steps. |
Just wondering if you have received a reply yet. I have the same issue although it did work several months ago for a short time. In addition, I changed the thermostat names to see if this would help and the new name is not reflected in the add block info. |
Sorry to say, but I haven't event gotten an acknowledgment from Google yet on this. |
Hello, just wondering if there has been a reply yet. Thanks, |
Hi @mitch1138, Sorry to say but Google totally ghosted us on this, but we did get our hands on another nest thermostat to try and recreate this issue to understand it further. Hopefully this is something we can provide a workaround or solution to, as opposed to waiting on Google again. If we have an update on this effort we will be sure to share in this case. |
Hello again, |
Hi @mitch1138, Sorry for the delays, we have been having some trouble powering the additional device stand alone (not connected to an HVAC system) for testing purposes actually. Unfortunately it seems you cannot setup the device fully without it being hardwired. We have a few power supplies that may work to try here so not a dead end. |
Hi @mitch1138, Looks like we've got a temporary power solution together, so in the next few weeks we should be able to add it into an account and try and recreate the issue. |
Excellent News, can't wait |
Hi @mitch1138, Sorry to the delayed update, but we got around to testing this setup with our Gen 4 nest with a temporary power solution. This was added to an existing account of one of the employees here alongside another older nest. We tried adding them to the same location and a new google home location. in both cases, we needed to complete the authorization step again and include the thermostat, but each time they would return from the API and were available in the dropdown menu on DAKboard.com subsequently. We have also tried a new different home rooms for the device, some with spaces and some without and all update automatically and are available Not sure what other testing we might be able to perform to recreate your conditions, we will keep this test system available and if we can think of something we'll try it. Its possible there is a problem with your specific Google Nest account, and Google support will be the only path forward sadly. Let us know if you have any other conditions we can check for you. |
I appreciate your efforts on this. I have tried reauthenticating several times without success. I have renamed the thermostats and only the old name shows up for just the one thermostat. I would not be surprised that this is a google issue. I will try, probably unsuccessfully, to contact them. |
@mitch1138 sorry we couldn't be more help. If you strike some email correspondence with them, CC the [email protected] email to loop us in and we'd be glad to help. |
Unable to show two Google Nest thermostats on the same account in thermostat block.
To Reproduce
Setup two google nests on one google account and link them to the thermostat block. Then try to display both. Authorization page with Google Nest clearly shows both thermostats listed, however the raw data received from google we are only seeing one location and one thermostat.
Expected behavior
Should show both thermostats in the block.
