Binary prefixes #33
Comments
Sounds like a reasonable suggestion. I have no immediate plans to implement this but would be willing to review a pull request that implements it. |
This could serve as an escape hatch for somebody who wanted to support custom SI prefixes. This could be used to solve d3#33 (binary prefixes) or it could be used to support something custom like American english numbers (1,000,000,000 => 1B [billion] instead of 1G [giga]).

#70 is a good option (needs to be rebased on main to be reopened). |

Hello again👋 |
#70 lgtm |
Great! Is it possible to merge it to d3-format main? |
Since it seems based on this comment that the IEC prefixes got stalled due to the currency changes -- would it be possible to extract the IEC changes to the main project? |
When visualising information, it would be quite useful to have the option of not just SI prefixes but also IEC binary prefixes, i.e. 1024 == Ki, 1048675 == Mi, etc.
