Expanding a gene doesn't fix the zoom level

When you click a gene, you might not see it in the network at all.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to the demo network
2. Zoom into the top-left of the network, or somewhere with few nodes on screen
3. Expand a gene on the left, like NCK2
4. The highlight is active, but because I'm zoomed in I can see anything that got highlighted. It's like everything disappeared.

Expected behavior
A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

When I expand a gene, I should always be able to see all the nodes that are highlighted in the network, which correspond to the gene.
