Right now the Typora extension does not support inline HTML, contrary to its namesake app.

It this the same problem as I have, that when I edit markdown files, then HTML tags are automatically converted to code?

That drove me nuts and I decided not use the extension.

Then I'm on the same path as you are. Did you find something other? Currently I found Mark Sharp. My main purpose is to defeat managing bigger tables.

After trying quite a few VS Code extensions, none of which quite cut it for me, I came to the conclusion that VS Code may be OK for some basic note-taking but will remain clunky. Mind you, I don't have grandiose requirements for an app.

Thanks for mentioning Mark Sharp, I had never heard of it but you made me curious, esp. since like the Typora extension and Typora the app, or Obsidian the app, it has in-Preview editable live rendering, which is one of the things I was so desperate for.

I have been using Obsidian almost from Day 1, and as an app have been very happy with it. But I cannot stand the moderators on Obsidian's Discord channel, and the extreme customizability of the app means one spends a lot of time tweaking/tinkering/fine-tuning.

I took another look at VNote, which I used many years ago but was a bit confounded by its system. Now, esp. after my VS Code disappointments, I am very happy with VNote, have been able to figure out properly how it works, and must say I am impressed. It does, however, lack that in-Preview editable live rendering.

It is not fair to keep talking in this thread about other apps, so, if you agree, let's communicate directly. My direct email address is [email protected].

Maybe the link helps the owner of the repo to get some ideas for optimizing his own project :-) since you mentioned Discord, you can find a link to Discord in my profile.
