@jamie Blacker – what do you mean? The plugins overview is available via [Main menu] Settings -> Plugins, same as always. |

I also find that there's no way to get to the plugins list other than either editing the URL or clicking into the settings of a plugin and then navigate up via the breadcrumbs. |

Shameless plug alert, but for anyone viewing this FR I should add that I recently built a (free) plugin which will add easy access to element source and field editing, which IMO helps a lot w/ navigating between content and modelling during development: https://github.com/mmikkel/CpFieldLinks-Craft |

@nathan Doyle – looks like a good solution to me! Even if you have to click a dropdown/icon to expand, removing the extra page refresh and the cognitive strain in having to visually scan the whole CP for the page you want makes a huge difference in the long run. This FR is about settings sub pages specifically because I find getting to those the most pressing issue, but I totally agree that all common sub pages and/or actions should be more easily available via the main nav than they are in Craft 2.5 right now. ...and obviously it'd be awesome if plugins were able to define their own sub nav items. |

Not exactly the same FR though, I think it may be close enough to include it here: https://monosnap.com/file/lihpuumZjHQi77rorN7pWIWKhFxv73 Note the addition of the dropdown arrow. |

Having quick access to Fields/Sections/Assets/Globals settings would be awesome. |

Craft 2.5 removes the Settings shortcut dropdown, making it cumbersome to access Fields, Sections etc sub pages (it's still two clicks, but the extra page refresh and having to scan for the correct sub page in the Settings overview page makes a big difference compared to using the old dropdown menu).
This isn't a huge deal for sites in production, but during the dev phase it's going to be a chore not being able to access these pages in a more direct manner.
