# AlertManager Configuration Guide: https://prometheus.io/docs/alerting/configuration/
alertmanager-config:
type: string
default: ""
description: |
Optional base64-encoded AlertManager YAML configuration. For guidance on
the structure of this string, refer to the official AlertManager guide at
https://prometheus.io/docs/alerting/configuration. If you are concerned
about placing secrets in this configuration (perhaps because you're
committing the underlying YAML file to a shared git repo), you may
optionally use the alertmanager-secrets option alongside this one.
If you don't provide a value for this option, a default configuration
file will be loaded which will be enough to quickly get a running
instance of AlertManager for evaluation/educational purposes.
Example usage: --option alertmanager-config=$(base64 -w0 config.yml)
# AlertManager Configuration Guide: https://prometheus.io/docs/alerting/configuration/
alertmanager-secrets:
type: string
default: ""
description: |
Optional base64-encoded AlertManager YAML configuration subset that
contains secrets. For guidance on the structure of this string, refer to the
official AlertManager guide at https://prometheus.io/docs/alerting/configuration.
This string will be merged with the contents of alertmanager-config to
form the final AlertManager configuration file. If there are duplicate
keys between alertmanager-config and alertmanager-secrets, the values in
the latter will take precedence.
For added security, ensure that the underlying YAML file is located in
your $HOME dir and not in a shared git repository. If sharing is
necessary, use a more secure method such as 1Password or AWS S3 with the
appropriate IAM policies in place.
Example usage: --option alertmanager-secrets=$(base64 -w0 secrets.yml)
