- Kubebuilder documentation recommends you to install Kubebuilder using the following commands.
os=$(go env GOOS)
arch=$(go env GOARCH)
# download kubebuilder and extract it to tmp
curl -sL https://go.kubebuilder.io/dl/2.0.1/${os}/${arch} | tar -xz -C /tmp/
# move to a long-term location and put it on your path
# (you'll need to set the KUBEBUILDER_ASSETS env var if you put it somewhere else)
sudo mv /tmp/kubebuilder_2.0.1_${os}_${arch} /usr/local/kubebuilder
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/kubebuilder/bin
Sometimes, the os
and arch
do not resolve correctly on MacOS. You might need to substitute them manually in the curl
command based on what go env GOOS
and go env GOARCH
return.
- You need the environment variable
GO111MODULE
to be set toon
. You can set this as follows.
export GO111MODULE=on
- If you get errors with
make install
, check the kube version and make sure the server version is atleast 1.14
kubectl version
