Story and history are synonymous. One can say History of the Earth, the History of the Universe, or the History of Middle Earth
Stories hold state that can be used for context.
A Story is algorithmic. It is often of a low resolution, thus requiring relatively little information to communicate (or transfer) a Conceptual System. The context created by the story can be evolved to create more resolution.
