Hi and thx for this cool package.
I believe it would benefit if you could more explicitly provide a way to download ICON forecast. It could then be used as a replacement for many of us who currently use GFS or ECMWF forecast?
The closest to what I was looking for I found in Chapter on Raster Data, as readDWD.grib2.
I think ICON forecast data deserves its own chapter and maybe specific methods just for working with forecasts series?

There is one file per hour per variable containing all LON/LAT gridpoints.
I tried it myself today, I had to use wgrib2 to extract the data on windows.
