The ability to enable/configure the Amazon Connect Chat Widget through an api rather than the console

For setting up automated deployments without having to click through the console when everything else is infrastructure as code.

Hi @cjhelloletsgo thanks for the feature request. Here are the Amazon Connect commands currently available in Boto3: https://boto3.amazonaws.com/v1/documentation/api/latest/reference/services/connect.html

Have you looked into this repository: https://github.com/amazon-connect/amazon-connect-chat-interface ? It looks there is code provided there that corresponds to the Add a chat user interface to your website page in the Connect documentation.

If you're looking to use infrastructure as code, then you can open a feature request for the AWS CDK. Otherwise if you just want to request a new API, please let us know and we can forward that request to the Amazon Connect for consideration.

I am requesting a new boto3 api to configure the chat widget, so the last of the options that you presented.

Great, thanks for confirming. I'll reach out to the Connect team with this feature request, since they own and maintain the underlying service APIs that the Boto3 commands use.

I also created a new issue for tracking this (aws/aws-sdk#733) in our cross-SDK repository, since service APIs are used across AWS SDKs. Please refer to that issue for updates going forward.
