The connected sound device (Beocreate 4CA, DAC+, etc.) should be shown in the [your system name] menu when scrolling down to About. Is this what you're looking for in your first suggestion or something else?
For the second part I'm gonna cc @hifiberry to comment on. So far we haven't deemed this information important but I could see it living under the General → Diagnostics menu.
Ahh, so it does. I’m using an iPad Pro 12.9 with the magic keyboard and I couldn’t scroll the about menu using the trackpad, I had to use the touch screen, there’s a little issue there.
I definitely think that information such what’s being input and what’s being output is useful information when things aren’t working as expected, it’s fine to be missing when things are working fine.....but....when they’re not it can be painful!
The first time I powered up I was getting no output, I couldn’t figure out what was going on, so I ended up rebooting and then it magically started working.
There appears to be no way in the GUI of showing what hardware was found/is being used. A status page which showed this information would be useful.
If possible, information about the stream being passed in/out would be useful for debugging purposes as well.
