Everything has been working perfectly until this week when I have been getting the following error.
"play.py(32) - TelstraAuthException: Invalid Telstra ID username/password. Please check your username and password in the settings"

Username & password is fine. I have tried removing stored token but no change. Uninstalled addon & reinstalled but no change.

All games still play perfectly on my phone.

Any ideas?

Hi @chainsaw1968

I would try going to telstra.com.au and seeing if you can log in there. And if there's no issues there try re-entering username/password in Kodi. Make sure to select OK once done in the settings window (and not press back) or the settings don't save.

If that doesn't get you headed in the right direction then can we please see a debug log from you?

  • Enable debug logging in Kodi settings -> system -> logging (don't enable component specific logging though)
  • Restart Kodi
  • Try to play a match replay in NRL add-on
  • Go into another one of our add-on's settings (AFL or iView for example) and choose 'send user report' (For some reason I've overlooked adding that option in NRL's settings, it's on the todo list now!)
  • Write back here with the issue number given

Thanks

Glenn

Hey Jack,

The username/pass you use in the add-on is a Telstra ID so you should be able to log in at telstra.com.au if the details are correct. For this add-on to work with the 'free offer' subscription type setting at some point you would have needed to create a Telstra ID and register an eligible service to it at the Telstra website. We have had reports earlier this year of people having their Telstra IDs unlinked/forgotten by the system or something strange like that, this could be similar??

If you're still having trouble or your only way of getting a live pass is through your work phone's service you can try linking the live pass with an nrl.com account within the mobile app, then change the subscription type in the add-on's settings to paid/in-app and entering your nrl.com account username/password. That should do the trick.

Hey Glenn,

Thanks for your help some 2 years ago!!

I have since had the NRL addon working perfectly on 3 Kodi boxes around the house.

That was until Matrix come out & I realised that your apps were not compatible. In a fit of RAGE I deleted Matrix on one of the boxes & re-installed installed Leia & your apps. Only to realise, you then updated your apps to work with matrix DOH!!

Anyways I have used the settings username & password as in the other boxes but cant get it to work. I have uploaded my log file, its 6851, any ideas?.

Also is it possible to copy the token from one of my working boxes to the problematic one??

Thanks in advance

Jack

Hey Jack

I can see I'm having the same issue with trying to authenticate - Unable to determine.... etc.

I will have a look over the next few days when I get a chance. However, if you're looking for live matches then unfortunately Telstra has done away with that: https://www.afl.com.au/news/545026/statement-telstra-delivers-giant-leap-forward-for-sports-streaming-with-kayo

With that said there's still the match replays, highlights and other videos that will still be in the NRL app so this add-on can still work with that content.

Had a quick look just now and it seems that there's no more 'subscription' to be had. Both Telstra and NRL.com logins come back with no subscriptions, and there's no option in the official app to subscribe/pay money for anything so I've temporarily removed the calls for authentication and replays etc. are working now.
I'll check back next time I get a chance to see if there is still any live content like press conferences or non-main season games and if they still work properly, it's hard though unless you actually look when it's currently streaming.

Version 1.5.10 should be in the repo now, do a force check updates on our repo to get it if you need it in a hurry otherwise it should auto update within the next day.
