We should organize a few live streams during the first weeks after the announcement. In these streams, we should teach and demo v3 to our users. Here are a few examples of what we could be doing:

  1. Invite spec code owners to answer any questions about v3.
  2. Build a simple application using the CLI, Glee, Modelina, Studio, VS Code extension, etc.
  3. Same as above but building a more complex application and probably a longer live stream?
  4. Take Adeo case study and migrate it to v3 live.
  5. Go through the new request/reply feature and showcase some examples with working code.

I'd love to see @asyncapi/ambassadors jumping in here.

This is an awesome idea (and a little bit crazy ^^) ; i can maybe help on this part if i find the time for the live stream :)

That's the kind I love! Let's do it! Let's find some day and time for you to jump in. It doesn't have to be on the same week of the announcement.

@alequetzalli @AceTheCreator do you want to be the hosts of the live streams? You can be there at the same time or split, as you prefer.

I'd definitely love to host these live streams 😜

Hey, long lost ambassador here. I'd like to be involved with the live stream, do you have a rough idea on when these will occur?

That's up to you, @jessemenning. It would be great to have live stream from the Solace accounts, so you decide when you do it, the format, and what you're going to talk about. The only constraint is that we should talk about v3. Since I don't think Solace is yet supporting v3 in the product, you can probably start leveraging some community members to join the live stream with you and showcase the new goodies.

Heyo @AceTheCreator and @fmvilas, I can help out but I'm unsure about running one myself since the topic isn't docs 😄😅.

For doing a live demo on a stream, not sure I can do that myself... or are you hoping that we identify volunteers to demo and then have folks who guide the stream convo?

Yes, exactly. Actually, you have complete freedom to choose the format of the live stream and how you manage it, who do you invite, etc.

That doesn't mean you can't do demos. It's really up to you.

I would like to invite @fmvilas to discuss topic 5:

  • Go through the new request/reply feature and showcase some examples with working code.

Can we do a Friday or Monday? (Tuesday and Wednesday are the writing groups calls.)

In all fairness, I think @GreenRover should do the one about req/reply. It's mainly his work.

@alequetzalli you can roast me in another if you want 😄

@fmvilas Can you provide examples or a little input what exactly is expected?

Hmm, when I host technical streams, I have a different style where I make hard stuff make sense for the average "layperson." (I doubt that the engineering contributors will be able to host a stream like that, they will likely only know how to cater to advanced engineering audiences.)

If our community would like to cover request/reply in more than one stream, that is good for marketing/enhancing visibility.

I'll let ya'll consider this take, otherwise, I don't think you'll want me to host a stream :D lol

@alequetzalli sorry for the confusion, I meant that you should invite @GreenRover but you still be the host. It's not fair that I talk about a work that he has mainly done. Or at least not without giving him the opportunity first.

@GreenRover that's really up to you and @alequetzalli. The idea is to explain our audience how request/reply works in v3 and what can it be used for. I can definitely help coming up with some ideas but I won't be in the call.

ah, that def makes more sense now 😀 ! @fmvilas

@GreenRover would you like to host a stream that explains new request-reply features at a more accesible 100 or 200 level? I will also go ahead and slack you. 😄

So to summarize so far:

  • Take Adeo case study and migrate it to v3 live: Hosted by @lbroudoux and inviting @M3lkior to do the migration live. They're considering doing it live from Apidays Paris on Dec 7th. Most likely during the morning.
  • Build a simple application using the CLI, Glee, Modelina, Studio, VS Code extension, etc.: Hosted by @AceTheCreator and I'm an invited guest that will troll him live  Live on Dec 13th at 15:00h UTC.
  • Same as above but building a more complex application and probably a longer live stream?: Hosted by @AceTheCreator. No specific date yet. I suggest we leave it for the week of Dec 18th (probably on the 20th).
  • Go through the new request/reply feature and showcase some examples with working code: Hosted by @alequetzalli and inviting either @GreenRover or me (if Heiko doesn't accept). No date yet but I suggest we go for Dec 14th at 15:00h UTC.

@M3lkior can you confirm you'll join @lbroudoux?

I'm still creating the stream request/reply use cases talking points with @GreenRover but he expressed interest/open to the ideas I shared so far.

That said, 7am my time is too early to do the stream, honestly the earliest I can do is 7:30am. If you want me to sound coherent at least 😄 @fmvilas

(My understanding is that 15:00h UTC converted to Pacific Standard Time (PST) is 7:00 AM. And I believe PST is 8 hours behind UTC, yes?)

Yeah, that's too early for you indeed, @alequetzalli. Feel free to agree on a new time with @GreenRover. A friendlier time for America would also be appealing.

Hello, helloooo @thulieblack and @fmvilas! @GreenRover has confirmed he can do a stream on Dec 14, at 18:00 UTC. Can you please help us schedule the stream accordingly? As discussed above, we will be covering request/reply use cases with some code snippets and keep it at one hour.

@alequetzalli feel free to schedule yourself using this GitHub action: https://github.com/asyncapi/community/actions/workflows/create-event-ad-hoc.yml. This way it will show up in the AsyncAPI calendar.

@alequetzalli and @GreenRover just letting you know that after your demo presentation and use case #980, you'll be running the 2nd V3 contest giveaway.

@AceTheCreator will give you the details and the links 👌🏿
