back from vacation tomorrow. let's get a version of this running somewhere before wednesday.

@BlaneCordes would you say the app is about ready to use? either way, we could make wednesday "half lean coffee / half hack night". if we want to do that, we should advise those interested to bring their laptops at least the day before. hope katch would be cool with it.

@belminf i plan to dockerize and composify this, and get it up on @shipyardbuild. you wouldn't happen to have the dockerfile on a branch, would you?
