Testing playbooks with molecule

I've been using molecule for my roles for some time now and love it.

I've just started looking at using it to test my top level playbooks along the lines of the video geerlingguy video on the topic, https://youtu.be/CYghlf-6Opc

However I seem to have hit a problem where my playbook under test is not seeing my group_vars when being run via molecule.

additionally, some of my playbooks are using groups so how would this be achieved in molecule? Seperate platforms with the group names?

heres what I've got set up in my molecule.yml under my projects top level directory and mostly working, i.e. its running my toplevel playbook but not seeing/accessing the group_vars

Is the links a valid group in your inventory? because thats what molecule thinks. It's looking to apply your vars to the links group.

Also does the file group_vars exist or is it a directory? molecule wont navigate that directory unless you are linking directly to the file that contains the vars you want to import.
