Describe the bug
Windows + D hides the bar. Pressing Win + D again shows it but it shouldn't be like that. I guess it is 24H2's fault.

Desktop.2024__96pct_smaller.mp4

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Press Win + D
  2. YASB is hidden
  3. Press Win + D again to show windows
  4. YASB is what it should be

Expected behavior
Win + D shouldn't hide the bar.

Desktop

  • OS: Windows 11 24H2 Build 26100.2033
  • YASB branch: main (1.3.4)
  • Python 3.12

I will research this, but unfortunately I'm not sure that we can do anything about this :(

I forgot windows_app_bar: true will do this, but in that case YASB will be also over all windows as well as videos, games and etc.

I guess it is like rainmeter's stay topmost position. Unfortunately it is not a good solution imo. Because the bar will stay top of the application even it is fullscreen like you said.

Also rainmeter has the same issue on 24H2. And I found this announcement in rainmeter discord:
It is 24H2's fault.. and it affected lots of apps, not just yasb and rainmeter.

I'm using explorerblurmica and micaforeveryone. It blurs almost all legacy windows apps.

24H2 users can remap WIN + D to WIN + M thanks to powertoys' keyboard manager to get 'minimize all windows' shortcut. It is a good temporary solution. But note that the 'show desktop' line/button at the right on the taskbar is still affected. Also WIN + M shortcut doesn't give your apps back, it only minimizes all of them.

I could replicate. but with komorebi running and going to any other workspace but the first it will leave the bar but minimize the app you have open on that workspace and reopen it on the first workspace when you press win - D again
