Question: Is it possible to send in format as a varible?

Hi,

I'm trying to send in the currency code dynamically to work when switching currency in the system. Is it possible to use a variable for the format, or is the only way to hard code the language code in the translation file?
If it is possible, what is the syntax to use?
I have tried a lot of different approaches without success.

I think that would be a very good feature to add since you want the currency to be able to follow the locale or be set individually in a system (different than locale).
