<p class="unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1 p-large">Twice annually, Behance presents <a href="https://www.behance.net/reviews">Portfolio Review Week,</a> a series of volunteer-organized events that has spread to hundreds of cities internationally, with a goal of bringing together creative professionals.</p>
<p class="unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1 p-large">Algonquin College's <a href="http://www.algonquincollege.com/mediaanddesign/">School of Media and Design</a> is happy to invite you to Ottawa's fall session of the 2015 Behance Portfolio Review. Join us for an evening of insightful critiques and industry mingling with some of the most well-respected brains of Ottawa's design community.</p>

<p class="unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1 p-med">This year we'll be located at the new AC Hub, on the second floor of the Student Commons building.</p>

<p class="unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1 p-med">The creative world wants and needs more feedback. It’s the only way our work gets better. Portfolio Review Week was created to foster feedback exchange in the creative community.</p>
<p class="unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1 p-med">Behance wanted to develop an offline program so that members could meet in real life and connect with other Behancers from their community.</p>

<h2 class="big-dos white unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1">How it works</h2>
<p class="unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1 p-large">This year, we will be dividing our reviewers into one-on-one colour-coded stations, according to their areas of expertise. Students will be able to approach them for periods of 15min, where they will present their portfolio and get feedback.</p>
<h3 class="white unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1">How do I know where to go?</h3>
<p class="unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1 p-med">Reviewers will be seated according to area of expertise, in the AC Hub. A map will be given out when you arrive of their locations, you can pick that up, along with your nametag, at the door. You are free to approach the reviewers in whichever order you prefer. We encourage you to visit as many of them as possible! Ushers will be there to ensure things move along smoothly and we avoid lineups.</p>
<h3 class="white unit unit-xs-1 unit-s-1 unit-m-1 unit-l-1">Some Tips</h3>

<dt class="cinco white">Come Prepared</dt>
<dd class="cinco">It's a good idea to start doing some research into our guest list to see what reviewers you would like to connect with. Do you want to meet like-minded artists that you could potentially collaborate with? Are you looking for a mentor or a business partner? Understanding your objectives in advance will help you seek out the right people at the event.</dd>
<dt class="cinco white">Bring Business Cards</dt>
<dd class="cinco">Business cards are a great way to swap info with someone for later connections. You’ll be getting a lot in such a short amount of time that it can be hard to remember who was from what conversation. Don't have them? Whip up a few before attending, and print them at the print shop!</dd>
<dt class="cinco white">Know Your Work</dt>
<dd class="cinco">It's a great idea to give some thought into what you'd like to say about each of your pieces. Think about what areas you'd like to highlight, or what areas you'd like helpful feedback on. And remember: know your typefaces.</dd>
<dt class="cinco white">Take Notes</dt>
<dd class="cinco">Bringing a notebook is a great idea. Not only does it give you a discreet place to store your business cards, but it's a great way to remember all the helpful feedback you'll be receiving that night so you can apply it to your work later.</dd>
