Re-record videos #421
Comments
I am going to record a new video on how to minimal workflow developing from scratch:

Thanks @giovannipizzi! Let me give an overview of the tutorial videos from the previous edition here:
I've moved all the presentations I could find to the "OLD slides" folder on our Google drive. New versions of the slides go in the "NEW slides" folder, and corresponding recordings in the "Recordings" one. I've also added a "Presentation-template" to the folder for new presentations (or adapt the old presentations in case you want to start from these). We'll discuss tomorrow at the team meeting to see if all this is clear, and if we want to add new presentations. |
Hi - only working intermittently on OPTIMADE at this stage - I'd suggest indeed @unkcpz instead - he has been instrumental in updating the |
Sure, I'll do it 😄 It was the shortest one on the list. |
Any suggestion on the video recording tool? I use OBS studio but cannot have my face in the corner. |
You can use OBS studio with several layers to have your face in the corner as well. It's what most youtubers/twitchers use apparently. |
We will do it together with @csadorf |
Discussed with @giovannipizzi last week that we might also want to set up a recording area here at EPFL next week, so we can have a more uniform set of videos for those present at EFPL. |
Videos are 2-3 years old, and they refer to older versions of AiiDA (1.x).
I think it's not due time to re-record them. I would do minimal effort (take the old slides from the videos of 2020 and 2021, update them where appropriate, and re-record).
It would be good if @mbercx @chrisjsewell you check which videos we want and asking tasks in the next few days, so people have time to prepare the slides and make the recording (I would put a deadline to Sep 25th, so there is time to upload them to Youtube, link them etc.
I would do this at least for the core.
I also think we have enough time to contact plugin developers if they want to re-record their videos if they have significant updates. We can then decide which to highlight, and how to indicate (probably in the video title) from which year they are (e.g. keeping the 2020-2021 ones if developers tell us that they are still updated).
