This is what it shows on Ubuntu 22.10. I know this isn't supported, but this is an FYI for future versions.

root@3d1f70e2ab91:/# apt-get install netcat
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Package netcat is a virtual package provided by:
  netcat-traditional 1.10-47
  netcat-openbsd 1.218-5ubuntu1
You should explicitly select one to install.

E: Package 'netcat' has no installation candidate

Installing netcat-traditional appears to work. However, netcat-openbsd is the version selected on previous versions of Ubuntu so it may not matter which one is chosen.
