At the time I had downgraded the Kubuntu system (from backports back to LTS) and the problem was fixed, as indicated in the answer under the linked question.
Now I am in Fedora 36, Plasma 5.25.3 and it has happened again.
As said, this does not affect only Tiled Menu, even old Application Menu is affected, as well as the Dashboard launcher, but for some reason Krunner and Kickoff work normally..

So after un-disabling baloo file search (limited to a single test directory), I've found out the following:
Krunner works.
Kickoff works.
Kicker does not.
Tiled Menu does not.
So info about the plasma krunner integration can be found at: #127
It looks like the widgets that overload the RunnerModel.runners property are losing file search. To test this, I deleted the following lines in SearchModel.qml.
One of the best featured of this nice widget is its use of the Plasma search, but that is gone after some system update.
Most launchers seem affected - excepting the default Application launcher (Kickoff) and Krunner.
This has happened to me at some point in the past already, as posted here:
Plasma application launchers other than the default one (and Krunner) don't show files and folders
