Post title text formatting #20320
Comments
Related #19491. |
While you're in the block editor, are you referring to the heading block or the post's title? |
@skorasaurus: I mean the posts/pages title. |
The text inside a 'standard' heading block that's not a post title can be marked up as a link, boldened, and italicized; additional text formatting can be provided by plugins like editorskit, aka block-options. The FSE post title block has options to change the formatting (text size, whether to change the case (all caps, all lower case), font weight (should the font be thick, thin, etc)). |

@strarsis I believe this is referring to the actual post and page title at the top of the editor, not the blocks? |
Yes. I need "micro-formatting" of that text. |
You can format the title, but not with controls in the block editor itself.
|
Formatting the title as a whole is possible. But sometimes I may want to format a part of it, as of making a part of it bold or italic. |
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
It would be nice to be able to format the heading of a post.
Currently, only plain text is possible.
This can have many useful applications, from just emphasizing a piece of title to splitting it in the theme, like the Page Title Splitter plugin does with the Classic Editor in a custom way.
Describe the solution you'd like
Allow/offer text formatting for the post heading field.
Describe alternatives you've considered
HTML tags inside the heading.
