As you already using a own Stylesheet, it would be nicely if you could remove the javascript Variables for setting the active color and place them in an .active class in Stylesheet, like (f.e.) Bootstrap does.
This would reduce the mass of configuration variables and centralizes the handling of styling. Maybe this would also be friendlier for Browser speed.
