Enlarging Mariana Islands (incorporating Palau, Micronesia, Marshall Islands)

Hi, thanks for the great work!

Is there a way to enlarge Mariana Islands (possibly within transform_state() linked below)

Also, do you have any advice for incorporating Palau, Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands into the map?

Hi Connor,

Thank you for your question.

You should be able to take the source code and create your own version of the shape files. We don't intend to change the shapefiles for the package.

I suggest pulling the shapefiles in the sf format and coming up with your own parameters for transform_state(). We mostly just guessed and checked until we liked where the shapes ended up.
